Our Approach to Treating Anxiety
At Connexions, a relational psychotherapy practice, we prioritize building a safe, authentic, and trustworthy relationship between client and therapist. Our commitment is to foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere where each individual feels comfortable being their true self.
Statistics from the National Institute of Mental Health reveal that about 31.3% of Americans will encounter an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives. Anxiety is more widespread than many realize, often leading to significant disruption and distress. It can stem from various sources such as workplace stress, family dynamics, relationship challenges, significant life changes, or unresolved past traumas. Physical manifestations might include chest tightness, heart palpitations, and insomnia.
At Connexions, our treatment for anxiety is rooted in a relational and informed perspective. We aim to establish trust within the therapeutic relationship, encouraging clients to share their experiences in an environment of curiosity and without judgment. Our approach includes:
Psychoeducation to understand anxiety better.
Developing healthy coping mechanisms to manage symptoms.
Providing tools for daily anxiety management.
We offer both online and in-person therapy options to suit your needs. If you have any questions or wish to learn more, please feel free to contact us or:
